SATO48 is one of our favorite things to do as a team at Schweitzer Creative. We had great successes in 2018 and in 2019, so we were incredibly excited about the 2020 challenge!

Enter one global pandemic…

Everything changed when COVID19 shut down everything and prevented anyone from gathering in large crowds. SATO decided to continue (in an entirely online format) with a major rule being that you had to follow all of the stay-at-home order guidelines for your filming location. Also, they didn’t want to see any films about pandemics (real life was plenty).

Our team decided to go with a project that would only require a minimal camera crew and one actor at a time. Sinside Out was the end result. A dark parody of the Pixar film, Sinside Out tells the story of the emotions inside a murdered, attempting to find out which emotion is to blame for them becoming murderers.

Unfortunately, we didn’t win any awards this year (we were robbed, we know!). But nevertheless, I am incredibly proud of the film we created and I hope you enjoy it!

PS: Our interns also created a film that features also features me in a small role. These guys made their film almost entirely on their own and I’m super proud of what they came up with! They, in fact, did win the Excellence in Youth prize. You can watch their film, Blindspot, here: https://vimeo.com/442553155
