After the fiasco that was SATO48 2017 for Schweitzer Creative, we wanted to simplify things for 2018!
My friend, Alec Knopf, came up with the idea for this short film and I thought it was perfect for SATO. So we wrote, storyboarded, filmed, edited, created music, and more in the span of 48 hours for the 2018 contest. Despite my protests, I was cast as one of the 3 characters in the film (you’ll notice that acting is not one of my skillsets listed on this website).
We were much happier with the results of this film for the contest than we were for The Bench. So much happier that we decided an extended cut was unnecessary; the original cut was perfect.
And we weren’t the only ones to think so. A few weeks later at the SATO48 2018 Awards ceremony, The Meeting won the best Sound Editing/Mixing Award and the Fox5 Fan Favorite Award. I am incredibly proud of what my team and I created and we can’t wait for SATO48 2019!
