After the amazing success that was SATO48 2018 for Schweitzer Creative, we wanted to go BIG for SATO48 2019! So this year, we sponsored 2 teams. “Schweitzer Creative” and “Schweitzer Creative Interns.” I’m very proud of the team that we’ve built at Schweitzer over the past few years that made this possible and I can’t wait to see what great things are in store for us in the future!
The Schweitzer Creative team made “The Bunker,” while the Intern team made “Punch War.” Both films turned out excellent and I’m very proud of them. To read more about “The Bunker,” click here.
“Punch War” tells the story of two male co-workers who get into a battle over the affections of a female co-worker and the gifts that she gives. I don’t want to spoil anything, so watch the film to find out what happens!
We let the interns take the lead on this project, with the help of several other high school and college students. And obviously, their actors were a bit older. Personally, I created the closing credits and helped to mentor our two co-directors, Owen Coleman and Cal Bussen.
We were thrilled to be nominated for several awards including, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Opening/Closing Credits, Best Poster Design, and the Youth Excellence In Film Prize. The latter of which our star sound designer, John Craigmyle won!
I am incredibly proud of what this team of young people created and I can’t wait to see what they come up with next!
